Dealer Certificate Fees and Plate Requirements
(Fee increases, except the bond, are effective 12/1/2007)
New Dealer – DLD-10, salespersons license application (DLD-7), plate application (DLD-9) [optional], zoning letter, buyers order, inspection required, certificate fee $200.00/assessment fee $250.00, salespersons fee $25.00/assessment fee $10.00 and $50,000 surety bond.
- Application for dealer’s license must include the name of a certified dealer-operator.
- Each salesperson applicant must be properly certified.
- The dealer-operator and salesperson certificates of qualifications may be obtained by successfully completing a written examination administered at local DMV customer service centers, and payment of a $50.00 fee and a criminal history check fee of $10.00.
Partner or Partners Added Or Dropped – DLD-10, same certificate number, no new plates, no inspection needed - - prorated fee of $16.67 per month for each month remaining in the license year.
Dealer Moves Sales Office, Different Political Sub-Division – DLD-10, same certificate number, proof of zoning, need inspection - - prorated certificate fee of $16.67 per month for each month remaining in the license year.
Dealer Moves Sales Office, Same Political Sub-Division, Or Changes Trade Name – DLD-10, same certificate number, proof of zoning, needs inspection (no zoning required if change of trade name only) - - - no fee.
Dealer Changes From One Type to Another – DLD-10, same certificate number, plates must be exchanged (DLD-9), inspection required for exchange of plates to be made - - - no fee.
Change From Individual Or Partnership To A Corporation Or Vice-Versa – DLD-10, new certificate number, must purchase new plates (DLD-9), salesperson applications (DLD-7), inspection needed. Certificate fee $200.00/no assessment fee, salesperson fee $10.00/transfer.
Change In The Name Of A Corporation With An Amendment To The Charter – DLD-10, same certificate number, no new plates are required, need inspection - no fee.
Change In The Name Of A Corporation With A New Charter Drawn Up – DLD-10, new certificate number, purchase new plates (DLD-9), salespersons applications (DLD-7), need inspection - - certificate fee $200.00/assessment fee $250.00, salesperson fee $25.00.
Supplemental Location – DLD-13, proof of zoning, need inspection, must be within 500 yards of principal location for a permanent supplemental location. Fee $40.00.
Change In Corporate Officers – No Fee.
Change In Fictitious Name – No Fee.
